SARASOTA, FL—United States Awning promoted Jordan Lawhorn to serve as Vice President, the company announced today. Lawhorn, who joined the business in February 2023, will begin leading the management team as part of the company’s succession plan.
“When we hired Jordan in 2023, we were digging out of an avalanche of business from Hurricane Ian, says Mark Schwalm, President of United States Awning. “Jordan was instrumental in streamlining our operational efficiency which has helped us increase our revenue and grow our profit margins.”
“United States Awning is over 150 years old and has been in my family through marriage since 1938, continues Schwalm, “and my goal has always been to keep the company in the family. When my son-in-law came on board, we weren’t sure if he was going to be a good fit for the business. Jordan has not only proved himself as a capable manager, but he also stepped into a leadership role.”
Originally from Rustburg, Virginia, Jordan moved to Florida in 2014. When he’s not working, Jordan enjoys playing golf and spending time with friends and family.
“Joining United States Awning has turned out to be a wonderful decision,” shares Lawhorn, “Mark has built an awesome team, and I’m honored to be part of the family business.”
